[이솝우화] 까마귀와 큰까마귀 🐦‍⬛ THE CROW AND THE RAVEN 🐦‍⬛カラスとワタリガラス

어느 날 한 까마귀가 큰까마귀를 몹시 부러워했습니다.
사람들이 큰까마귀를 미래를 예언하는 새로 여기며 존경했기 때문이었죠.
까마귀는 자신도 그런 명성을 얻고 싶었습니다.
그래서 어느 날, 여행자들이 길을 따라 오는 것을 보고
나무 가지 위로 날아올라 힘껏 “까악! 까악!” 하고 울었습니다.

여행자들은 그 소리에 깜짝 놀라 불길한 징조인가 두려워했습니다.
그러나 한 사람이 까마귀를 보고 말했습니다.
“걱정 마시오, 친구들. 저건 그냥 까마귀일 뿐이오.
아무 의미도 없소.”

❤️ 교훈:
겉모습만 흉내 내는 사람은 결국 웃음거리가 된다.

THE CROW AND THE RAVEN

A Crow became very jealous of a Raven, because the latter was regarded by men as a bird of omen which foretold the future, and was accordingly held in great respect by them. 

She was very anxious to get the same sort of reputation herself; and, one day, seeing some travellers approaching, she flew on to a branch of a tree at the roadside and cawed as loud as she could. 

The travellers were in some dismay at the sound, for they feared it might be a bad omen; till one of them, spying the Crow, said to his companions, 

"It's all right, my friends, we can go on without fear, for it's only a crow and that means nothing."

    Those who pretend to be something they are not only make
    themselves ridiculous.

🐦‍⬛カラスとワタリガラス

ある日、一羽のカラスがワタリガラスをとても羨ましく思いました。
人々がワタリガラスを「未来を予言する鳥」として敬っていたからです。
カラスは自分もそんな名声を得たいと思いました。
そこで、ある日、旅人たちが道を歩いてくるのを見て、
木の枝に飛び乗り、大声で「カアーッ！」と鳴きました。

旅人たちはその鳴き声を聞いて不吉な前兆ではないかと恐れました。
しかし、ひとりの旅人がカラスを見つけて言いました。
「心配いらないよ、あれはただのカラスさ。
何の意味もないじゃないか。」

❤️ 教訓:
見せかけだけで他人のまねをする者は、結局笑われるだけである。
