[이솝우화] 사자, 곰, 그리고 여우 🦁 THE LION, THE BEAR, AND THE FOX 🦁 ライオンとクマとキツネ

 

사자와 곰이 아기 염소 한 마리를 동시에 낚아채어, 서로 가지겠다고 싸우기 시작했습니다.
싸움은 길고 격렬했으며, 결국 둘 다 지쳐 쓰러지고 말았지요.
그들은 심하게 다친 채 바닥에 누워 숨을 헐떡이고 있었습니다.

그동안 멀리서 지켜보던 여우는 그 틈을 타 염소를 낚아채 달아났습니다.

그 모습을 바라보며 사자와 곰은 서로를 향해 말했습니다.
"우리가 이렇게 죽을 힘을 다해 싸웠건만, 결국 득을 본 건 여우뿐이군."

🧠 교훈:
다툼은 때로 제3자의 이익만 가져다준다.

THE LION, THE BEAR, AND THE FOX

A Lion and a Bear were fighting for possession of a kid, which they had both seized at the same moment. 

The battle was long and fierce,
and at length both of them were exhausted, and lay upon the ground severely wounded and gasping for breath. 

A Fox had all the time been prowling round and watching the fight: and when he saw the combatants lying there too weak to move, he slipped in and seized the kid, and ran off with it. 

They looked on helplessly, and one said to the other,
"Here we've been mauling each other all this while, and no one the better for it except the Fox!"

ライオンとクマとキツネ 🦁

ライオンとクマが、一匹の子ヤギを同時に捕まえ、どちらのものかと争い始めました。
戦いは激しく長引き、ついには両者とも疲れ果てて地面に倒れ、息を切らしていました。

その様子をずっと見ていたキツネは、彼らが動けなくなったのを見計らって、
サッと子ヤギを奪い取り、逃げていきました。

無力に見つめるライオンとクマは、互いにこう言いました。
「こんなに激しく戦ったのに、得をしたのはキツネだけだったな。」

🧠 教訓:
争いは時に、第三者に利益をもたらすだけで終わることがある。
