[이솝우화] 소년과 헤이즐넛 🥜 THE BOY AND THE FILBERTS 🥜 少年とヘーゼルナッツ

 

어느 날, 한 소년이 헤이즐넛이 가득 담긴 항아리에 손을 집어넣어 한 움큼 쥐었습니다. 

하지만 너무 많이 움켜쥔 탓에 손을 다시 빼내려고 해도 항아리 목이 좁아서 빠지지 않았습니다.

견과류를 놓치기 싫지만 손도 빼낼 수 없었던 소년은 결국 울음을 터뜨렸습니다. 

이를 지켜보던 한 사람이 소년에게 말했습니다.

“얘야, 그렇게 욕심부리지 마라. 절반만 쥐면 손을 쉽게 뺄 수 있을 거야.”

🌱 교훈: 
한 번에 너무 많은 것을 욕심내지 마라.

THE BOY AND THE FILBERTS

A Boy put his hand into a jar of Filberts, and grasped as many as his fist could possibly hold. 

 

But when he tried to pull it out again, he found he couldn't do so, for the neck of the jar was too small to allow of the passage of so large a handful. 

 

Unwilling to lose his nuts but unable to withdraw his hand, he burst into tears.

 

A bystander, who saw where the trouble lay, said to him,

"Come, my boy, don't be so greedy: be content with half the amount, and you'll be able to get your hand out without difficulty."

    Do not attempt too much at once.

少年とヘーゼルナッツ 🥜

ある日、少年がヘーゼルナッツの入った瓶に手を突っ込み、できるだけたくさんのナッツをつかみました。

しかし、欲張ってつかみすぎたため、瓶の口が狭くて手が抜けなくなってしまいました。

ナッツも手放せず、手も抜けず、少年は泣き出してしまいました。

それを見た通りすがりの人がこう言いました。

「坊や、そんなに欲張るんじゃないよ。半分だけつかめば、手はすぐに抜けるさ。」

🌱 教訓: 
一度に多くを求めすぎてはいけない。
