[이솝우화] 박쥐, 가시덤불, 그리고 갈매기 🦇🌿🕊 THE BAT, THE BRAMBLE, AND THE SEAGULL 🦇🌿🕊 コウモリとイバラとカモメ

 

박쥐와 가시덤불, 그리고 갈매기가 함께 동업을 하여 무역 여행을 떠나기로 했다.
박쥐는 장사 밑천을 빌렸고, 가시덤불은 여러 종류의 옷을 챙겼으며, 갈매기는 납을 실어 출발했다.
그러나 얼마 지나지 않아 큰 폭풍이 몰아쳐 배와 화물은 모두 바닷속에 가라앉았다. 
다행히도 세 여행자는 육지에 도착할 수 있었다.

그 후로 갈매기는 잃어버린 납을 찾으려는 듯 바다 위를 날다가 종종 물속으로 잠수한다.
박쥐는 빚쟁이를 만날까 두려워 낮에는 숨어 지내다가 밤에만 먹이를 찾아 나온다.
가시덤불은 사람들이 지나갈 때마다 옷을 잡아채며 언젠가 잃어버린 옷을 되찾으려 한다.

🪶 교훈: 
사람은 없는 것을 새로 얻기보다, 잃어버린 것을 되찾는 데 더 마음을 쓴다.

THE BAT, THE BRAMBLE, AND THE SEAGULL

A Bat, a Bramble, and a Seagull went into partnership and determined to go on a trading voyage together. 

The Bat borrowed a sum of money for his venture; the Bramble laid in a stock of clothes of various kinds; and the Seagull took a quantity of lead: and so they set out.
By and by a great storm came on, and their boat with all the cargo went to the bottom, but the three travellers managed to reach land.
Ever since then the Seagull flies to and fro over the sea, and every now and then dives below the surface, looking for the lead he's lost; while the Bat is so afraid of meeting his creditors that he hides away by day and only comes out at night to feed; and the Bramble catches hold of the clothes of every one who passes by, hoping some day to recognise and recover the lost garments.

    All men are more concerned to recover what they lose than to
    acquire what they lack.

🦇🌿🕊 コウモリとイバラとカモメ

コウモリとイバラ、そしてカモメが一緒に商売をすることになり、貿易の旅に出かけた。
コウモリは資金を借り、イバラはさまざまな服を用意し、カモメは鉛を積み込んで出発した。
ところが間もなく大嵐に遭い、船も積荷もすべて海の底へ沈んでしまった。
しかし三人はなんとか陸にたどり着いた。

それ以来、カモメは失った鉛を探すかのように海の上を飛び、時々海中に潜り込む。
コウモリは借金取りに会うのを恐れて、昼は隠れて夜だけ出てくる。
イバラは通りかかる人の服を引っかけ、いつか失った衣服を取り戻そうとしている。

🪶 教訓: 
人は足りない物を新しく手に入れるより、失った物を取り戻すことにより強く執着する。
